Default Injury to elbow

Hi all,

I injured my 'elbow' and I'm not sure how it happend. I got the injury back on September 4th and haven't lifted since. I think I strained too much doing dumbell curls but I'm not sure since I didn't feel any pain at the time. I didn't actually feel any pain until the next day as I was tossing some blankets down the basement steps and I felt a sharp pain.

Now I can't make a fist or grip anything without pain. Even lifting a litre bottle of soda hurts. I pretty much stopped using the arm altogether so it would heal faster. I feel the pain on the outside of my right elbow, closer to the upper arm, rather than the lower arm. When I move my hand up and down and feel my forearm muscles flex, the pain is pretty much where the top forearm muscles connect to the outside of the elbow.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of injury or know how long it takes to heal? I even stopped doing my legs because I can't lift any plates to put on the bar for squatting without experiencing pain. Thanks.

Riley

If you can, get in to see a doc. If it's been hurting for that long and your mobility is decreased that much, you'll definitely want to make sure that your ligaments and tendons are ok.

Chances are, you've just got something pinched. But it's best to act now and not suffer later.
