Never mind...you didn't really answer questions put to you. You already know exactly what you're doing. It's a mystery.

Eric "What I'm getting at is whether the PERFORMANCE of each arm is different or just the outward response of each arm"

Zac "the responce is different. sorry. "

I'm having trouble following this thread. Maybe A little more detail would help. Do you do use the same weight and reps with each side when using dumb bells or does "go to failure" mean doing whatever each side can do even if that results in different reps for each side?

I simply meant that there were more detailed questions to be answered. I'm sure this is just a break down in communication but, quite frankly, when people's responses to a question are longer than the OP's responses, I already know where a thread is going. I don't have time to painstakingly pull info out of people. As you pointed out, I work to failure isn't very informative so I put the same question to the op.

The fact that it's the chest and back also would have been good to know as well.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
