Default Muscle Weight/Fat Weight

I'm in the middle of a bulking phase right now. How can I determine how much muscle weight I've gained as opposed to fat weight? Thanks.

You would have had to establish a baseline before you started by measuring your body fat percentage, calculating how many pounds that is as a percentage of your total bodyweight, and then subtracting that number from your total bodyweight to get your "lean mass". Of course some of that lean mass number will be bone, other tissue, and water but that any increases over that number will either be fat or muscle (maybe a little water here and there depending on the individual). Then you'd just check you bodyfat percentage again at some later point in time.

However, unless you have a significant amount of bodyfat the mirror should give you plenty of info.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

I'm not noticing a great deal of fat in the mirror. A little is developing in my gut but I've been told that's part of bulking----it's not all going to look attractive at first.
I weigh myself once a week and was just wondering how to break down my gains. So, if it's not looking too unpleasant than I can assume it's quality muscle for the most part?

That's what I would assume . Like you said there is bound to be some fat gains but if your gut starts making your shoes disapear then you might begin to think fat gains are outstripping muslce gains.

Yeah the mirror says a lot. Before and after pictures are good.

I had parts of my lower body dissappear when I was bulking up before. I don't like "Johnson" to disappear on me. I don't think I want quite that much fat on my body the next time around. I'm going to try and control that more.
