I think maybe Hilton is mixing up linear progression with linear periodization.

How long have you been lifting? It may be too soon for you to be talking about micro/macro/meso cycles or periodization.

I made that mistake awhile back. It is very enticing to make your program complicated and full of numbers and changing every few weeks.

Just remember: you should not emulate the training programs of accomplished athletes. You should mirror what they did at your stage of their career. You wouldn't follow Miguil Indurain's training regimen if you goal was to race in the Tour de France.

well iv been lifting for almost 3 years, and i need to lift 5 days a week cuz thats what my high school fball coach requires and i base my program off the one that we are given to do for fball, i just changed the type of cycles that im doin and change up some of the lifts
