Default Newbie Question - What kind of program to start?

I was using the search feature on this forum and I came across a Novice Traing Guide. I didn't want to bump it in case there was good reason for it to get buried. Heres the link.

Its a long read, but I was wondering what are some of your opinions on it?

Rippetoe's Starting Strength is an excellent novice program that will get you some good results. I say go for it.

If we made complex custom routines for everyone do you think we could go to work for Flex or Musclemag?? Damn, I couldn't even say that with a straight face...
