If beginners are to be required to read training stickies before they post then we need stickies more suited to beginners. Also, making something like that required will have the effect of stifling discussion. I.E. you can't deviate from the stickies. Which will make this board a lot like others where you have a group of "elites" that shout down any questions or response that don't adhere to the party line of the board.

I think it will provide any beginners OR newbies to the forum with the general concept of what is to be offered. Based off of what they read, they post questions. The difference being whether someone posts a link to read all the stickies as an answer in their thread, or the forum welcome letter stressing the importance to read the stickies. Nothing is cut and dry and the stickies certainly aren't an answer to any/all questions. But some material in the stickies such as "why aren't you growing" things such as focusing on squats and deadlifts should be forced down everyone's throat. "Stiffling discussions" in most forums is to check someone's 5 day split, which would be reduced following some edification of sticky material.

P.S. I'm not disparaging the stickies :)

^^ No doubt. Stickies are a tool to give every person relatively new a base of knowledge. That's all I'm saying.

I have no idea why I brought that up btw :biglaugh:. I was reacting to something I thought someone said and now I can't find where they said it.
