Default problem areas, please give advice

Hi I'm a newbie,
I've been on a weight loss and getting in shape mission for nearly 3 years, after a long long illness. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through a major weight loss and if so what about the loose skin? Mine's not nearly as bad as some have with this much weight loss, but, it still bothers me. I'd like to know if it goes away with exercise and time or if surgery is the only answer.
Secondly, I've always had a problem area with my knees. they seem to be chubby, especially on the inside of them. I know weight loss has helped and will help more, but, are there any exercises that will help? Because I was an extremely skinny child and they were big even then. They also have a tendency to be injured easily. I'm 5'8 a woman, I seem to put on muscle easily and have a large frame.(At 170 I looked muscular ,but, slim.)
Any help, or suggestions, will be greatly appreciated. thankyou

some of the elasticity in your skin will help in tightening up but it depends on how dramatic the weight loss was. If you build some muscle it will also help in filling out the loose skin. Depending on how long you have been waiting for your skin to go back, surgery might be a good option. I would talk to a Dermatologist first before doing anything regarding surgery.

As for you knees, squats and lunges. If you build up your legs it will give the appearance of smaller joints.

Default thankyou Dave

I've lost 90 pounds, still plan to lose another 30 or so depending. i'm going on how i look more than on the pounds.

Thankyou so much for the advice for my knees. I have started doing lunges and squats and muscle wise my legs are more muscled than when i was running a lot. Now if the skin would just catch up, lol. But i will keep working on building the leg muscles. I think the increased blood flow from working out must be helping too. I've been losing pretty slowly the last 2 years but i think that's helped my skin not to get terribly saggy like it can when losing nearly 100 pounds. I think it would be very cool to lose a huge amount of weight and not need the expected skin removal surgeries.
