DOMS is as much an indicator of growth as SWEATING is!

You'll grow more if the sweat can roll down your cheeks between sets.
In all seriousness, as long as you're being progressive adding weight to the bar, and eating as much clean foods as possible, you shouldn't have any problems growing.
Remember too that even something as small as 2 lbs added every month adds up to 24 pounds of mass in a year!
