Default Rope Climbing

I am in the army and will be soon attending spcecial forces selection. During the course there will be many obstacles the involve rope. But there are no climbable ropes around here. What exercises can i do to insure success at ropeclimbing?
Thanks

Rope climbing involves 80% legs. When I had to do those obstacle courses, I had to rely on my legs because most of the climbing was after distance running. Just push with your legs and you'll make it.

Besides squatting, do some close grip pulldowns with the v-bar attachment.
