Leaning out
I was talking to a friend today who's an advanced BBer. He says that it's easier to get lean, and then put on mass. And, he says that it's harder to put on mass, and then get lean later. He thinks that I should stop doing weights, and start doing cardio, exclusively, until I hit 190. I currently weigh 260. Is this good advice?

No. I am no fat loss expert but from a "health" standpoint that is probably terrible advice to give anyone. Apart from the hormonal imbalance, etc general information which I have read up, I do know from personal experience that doing cardio only does not result in a "lean" look. I believe there must a balance between diet, cardio and weights in order to achieve a desirable physique.

I have a friend that has been bodybuilding for about 8 years now he started out at about 125 no joke I saw his drivers license and he was skinny. Just at his peak bulk he stood at 250lb at about 15%bf he has been cutting for a year now and now hes at about 185lb at say 9-10%bf ? Hes only 5'8 and damn he is ripped torn. He says he eats really healthy does cardio and still lifts heavy. He also says that its easy for him to loose weight. I got a picture of him laying around somewhere around here (no fag!) just to get an idea.
I don't get it I'm almost to 185 and I am not close to what he is... I don't freakin get it!!! we'll I'll get a picture up soon.
Oh also why am I cutting when I'm not trying? I mean I'm trying to bulk and just eating anything and everything and for some damn reason parts of my body are getting cut.

Ummpain, it Could be muscle growing, taking up room under the skin...
I thought it wasn't that great advice, I would be losing basically all the progress I had made.

I dont think its that straight forward. I dont usually listen to what people tell me in the gym. Sometimes I have strangers come up to me and say that my lower inner quadrant of my left pec needs work...wtf.
I think its important to take in BMR and a million other factors when making any sort of statement. I find it much more easier to pack on mass when I eat well over maintaince and lean out later by just making some small tweaks in my diet.
I dont see the logic in his statement. Why would it be harder to drop fat when you have more muscle?

Yeah, that doesn't make that much sense. Sounds like something you would get out of a magazine or something.

He doesn't take creatine, he didn't even know what it is!! I was surprised. He's a really cool guy, and he wants to get a bodybuilding team going. I don't want to hurt his feelings.

Well, what he does may work well for him and perhaps he is happy with it. That doesn't mean it's applicable to everyone. I mean if I told everyone to do what I do people would be eating WAY too many pastries and stuff And Doritos.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
