Well I like Sentinels program too .

You could do it but but I think you'd be MUCH better off doing the Rippetoe first, getting everything you could out of it, and then doing what Sentinel is doing which will work very well at that point. You're probably looking at the Rippetoe and thinking it's not enough and it looks too easy but trust me it's going to be harder when you really start progressing. Remember you will be loading the bar every single workout as opposed to once a week.

If you can still do that right now then I would whole heartedly suggest you do it while you can because you will never progress in strength faster. It's worth more than a try to see how it goes. And it will get you used to lifting with more intensity as Widdoes said.

But if you really had you heart set on that one you could do it. But you will not progress as quickly as you would have with the beginner program. The most fundamental change I would suggest is that you simply go for a top set of 5 on Friday as opposed to what Sentinel is doing....until you get more used to lifting that heavy then you could start trying for 3's and 1's and good stuff like that.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Well I'm kinda stuck as what to do now... because I dont' know whats going on for summer yet. If I get my old job back I'll on the road all the time to little towns and have no chance to workout. Which sucks cause I'll be back to square one in fall. If I get a job here for the summer then I can hit up the university gym as often as I like during the week. Ah! Don't know what to do.

I agree with Eric and I think you will progress on Sentinel's program very well by itself, but much faster after completing the Rippetoe. Just my opinion. Either way good luck and keep us posted on your results.

Well looks like I'm probably either head back to my old job this summer or headin to the oil rigs.... so either way I'm thinkin workin out is a no go this summer. At least I'll get some physical activity if I work the rigs... along with some mad cash.
