Question Suggestions for a routine

I'm a 47 year old union laborer who's looking to get stronger and preserve my joints. I've been to the gym before but I'd like to get some advice as to what's a good way to workout. My job is extremely physically demanding in both the aerobic an anaerobic catagories. Any suggestions?

If your goals are to get stronger, i would take a look a the 5x5 program that is sticked here. Diet is going to be pretty key to any sort of workout program.

As your job is very demanding you would more then likely want to hit the gym in the a.m. so you arn't too fatigued at the end of the day as to be unable to workout.

At your age, I might even want to consider going to a doctor and seeing is hormone replacement theapy is right for you.
