Default Getting Started

Hello, this is my 1st post! Great site. I'm 35 yrs. old, 6' 225#s about 25%bf. I started a high protein, low carb and low fat diet. Also started weight traing and cardio recently. Wanting to lose fat, get in shape, stronger, and feel better.
Should I concentrate on cardio and diet to burn fat before getting serious about lifting? Thanks

Take a look at the stickies...There are some great programs in there.

As for your diet...Make sure it's in toon...Gains or Lose will depend on that.

Is the fat loss or muscle building more important to you at this point? Both can't be optimally done at the same time. But there are plenty of older people, most which have some journals on here, that are progressing nicely on Rippetoe's Starting Strength Program.

In that case i suggest you cycle carbs, keep protein high, and get on a good strength program such as Rippetoe's Starting Strength.
