Default Toning correctly?

I was thinking about toning soon after about 3-4 months of bulking...but im not sure how to go about doing this. Im used to all heavy weights and my reps range from 4-10 or 2-8 depending on the exercise and weight. Usualy i do 4 sets of each exercise starting from either 10 or 8 reps then add weight and go down 2 reps each set till i reach either 4 or 2. Ive gained about 20+lbs during my bulking phase and after a couple more pounds ( maybe ill start at 200lbs/ currently 173lbs) i want to tone all the muscle mass i have obtained. Im currently taking 100% Whey Protein and Cee Ethyl Ester Creatine. I know high reps and low reps seem to be the basis of toning but i want to also know the effects it will have on the high weight/low rep exercise im doing right now since i have good ability in certain exercises and i dont want to loose that. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

you can still train heavy and tone up... maybe not as heavy because of the carb depletion but just change your diet and add cardio.. Myself and others I've talked to have tried 5x5 program while cutting and have been able to keep most of there strength and size.. but this also depends on your diet big time... you don't want to go from eating 3500 cals. to 2000 cals in a week, you will loose muscle faster than you've put it on..
here's a sticky that I've used that works great for dieting and cutting
