Default why not the all in one

I want to direct this to Dr x but feel free anyone
I have gone and ordered the dextrose and maltodex which if i understand correctly isa simple sugar and a carb which i will add to my protein shake

hers my question why not just buy one of those all in one weight gainers like they have at gnc I think they give you 1850 cals a shake and I think thers one that has even more in it.

Wouldnt that solve all or at least a lot of my problems

Very interested in hearing back on this one.

i dont have much experience in weight gainers but isnt it 1850 cals per serving and a serving size is like 3 scoops which is a pain in mix in an 8 ounce serving so its kind of like 3 shakes in one....they also have alot of fat in cholestrol in most of them i think but im not to sure. are u currently using creatine, im not sure why u dont just eat the excess carbs gotten from the maltodex, and just use the dextrose for an sugar boost?

aight, here is a tidbit, read up t-mag carb roundtable, pt1 As for the shakes.... there is only so much you can take in at a time... my shakes, 50-60g pro 100-120g carb.. so just protien isolates, i got a sac, and add ground oats. thats it, inexpensive, it will mix with anything, and you can add any optional supps.
I will not be seen in a gnc checkin out anything. they are wicked expensive in my book. BN is leaps and bounds better... go ahead and try some out, maybe youll like the flavor, but you will find out quick how expensive it is to keep taking it if you buy the mixes.

Don't ever buy anything at GNC! Way too expensive. Get the stuff online. You wait a few days, but that's it. I really can't seeing getting into a situation where I'd need something TODAY. So waiting a few days should be okay.

and i'm no nutritionist, but I don't think the body could process 1800+ cals in one sitting, could it?

I would think a lot of that would be wasted or stored.

Most of the weightgainers that give u 1850 calories per serving has to be mixed in milk. Also, mostly any sensible company would advice u to take 1/3 or 1/2 of the serving split in even intervels throughout the day. As for GNC I really dont think they give a shit about our body processing their shit, all they care is about their profit. I do know some powerlifters who chuggs down 1850 calory shakes in one sitting, but I really dont know if its helping them in any kind of way.

then it's really only marketing shit. Why would you make a shake and then drink it three times over the day. That's like saying I had a chicken breast w/ 90 grams of protein in one serving...I just conveniently cut it up into three pieces and ate one at 12, at 4 and 8!!!

I'm really not into the FDA getting into tons of regulation, but shit like 1800 cals per serving (but, shhh, you should only take 1/3 at a time!) is just wrong!

IMO N-Large-2 is the best out there. It has a reasonable 90 or so carbs, 50 grams protein, ect. I usually supplement it in broken doses. I take 2 scoops (half serving) immediately after working out, then the other half taken 30 minutes later. But, there are cheaper ways as Joeyboy recommended. It is obviously easier to have it premade, take two scoops and go...But, having the seperate ingredients both saves cash for other sups, and you have full control of exactly what goes into it according to how well you respond.

We should start a thread with weightgainer recipes. I know there is already a protein one, but I don't think there is a weightgain one. I'm too lazy to check then edit.

during my bulking cycles i'd sometimes make "MRP" shakes that had 2k+ cals.. granted, it would keep me "full" for much of the day, but the whole "the body can only assimilate X amount of food at one sitting" is rediculous... its not like once it hits your stomach, you have a limited window of time before its expelled.
