Trainers...are they necessary?

I think in a lot of cases, trainers can hurt your progress. Some try and sell you things that are a waste of money just so they can make a little bit off of you. Or the ones that a gym will assign to you for free if you join their gym...the type that don't really care they are just putting in their 8 hours and are thinking more about going home. Some trainers though, I think can teach and push you to things you wouldn't do if you were working out alone.

It was between august and Jan. That was the last time that i got tested. I have to back though because i have dropped 8 more on the scale and i want to make sure its bf and not muscle.

Pirate....
I have actually been to one of those free trainers at my gym. When i bought my membership it came with 4 free sessions so i figured what the hell i might as well try it.

It actually wasnt half bad. I thought the guy was just going to stick me on the machines and stand around while i worked. We didnt do that at all. He actually had me sweating pretty good and i kept asking for him to amp it up. It was a good workout overall. I went and did 30 mins of cardio after but it wasnt bad for a free session.

I still wouldnt pay though I can google that stuff.

For any of you interested check out brian devlin. He has some okay stuff that i have stolen.

I have been to them too, I've had 3 free sessions, and its not all of them that are like that. I am just talking about the ones that really don't care but people believe them because people don't know any better, but if those people were to research a little, they'd see that their trainers were just trying to get through the day instead of actually help people out with their routine or diet or whatever advice they were paid to give.

i've seen some god-awful "trainers" in gyms in the past. i remember one guy would stick his client on a tricep pressdown or leg extension machine and then just talk to other people the whole time they were doing their "set" of 12-15 reps with one plate on the machine.

to the OP: i know nothing of figure comps but a person with some experience could be helpful to you even just for little aspects like hair, makeup, posing etc etc.
btw that is some great progress, seems like you got the training and dieting part down pretty good!

Thanks Riddick. Ive been researching and doing a lot of reading on my own. I am pretty dedicated when it comes to getting what i want
