Yeah man, no rush. I'm googling some stuff as well.

So no BBQ sauce? awwww why =[

the yogurt isn't plain and it has ~20ish grams of sugar per serving. I'm pretty sure that's it, I don't have any in the fridge right now.

Bad?

And isn't cheese almost like whole milk which is good? Or is it bad fat that adds to my belly?

so.. MORE RED MEAT? BEEF

I'm reading all the nutrition stickies right now, as well as rippetoe's book. Gah so much to read today! :weights:

Maybe BBQ sauce isn't bad. I think it depends on what kind you use. Just check to see how much sugar is in it. The yogurt isn't so good because that's got a decent amount of sugar. Cheese....... That will depend on the type of cheese and how much you have. I was just pointing out every little thing I could think of. A lot of people prefer to take in their protein from red meat. Personally, I don't pay much attention to where my protein is coming from so long as it's from whole foods.

usually alot of bbq sauce has high fructose corn syrup in it...same shit that's in soda iirc.

Good advice Ross.

I would also cut out the whole milk ( no milk at all) Try and cut out all the bad fat and Bad Carbs that you can. There is good fat( fish Oils, EVO, nuts)and carbs( brown rice, yams, oats) you can add the evo to your protein shake.
Cut out the granola bars, waffles , syrup. Add in some egg whites go with 1 whole egg and 6 whites with a cup of oats for breakfast. You need to add in some GREENS. Spinach is very good, lettuce, beans, peas and asparagus.

When do you workout ? What is your pre and post nutrients look like.

I workout usually around 2:45pm tues and thurs. sat and sun = ~11am.

EVO? what's that?

red meat protein, this is what.. hamburger meat, steak.. that's all I can think of. is chicken good?

TALO 05-02-2008 11:51 PM

EVO - extra virgin olive oil (i guess it's EVOO)

Do you take pre / post workout shakes ? ( carbs / protein )

Yes, chicken is very good. Low fat High Protein.

pre and post workout shakes consist of the same thing. 1 scoop of whey + water. should that differ?

Before reading all the knowledge here, my dinner used to consist of orange chicken and mashpotatoes LOL... God I'm glad I found you guys.

Another question I had, since 5x5 rippetoe is a STRENGTH and POWER program, and I'm looking for pure mass, what program should I go on? Am I making another newbie mistake here in looking for the right 'program' ? I'm not sure what mindset I should be having here but as far as I see it...

bottom line: rippetoe is for strength. I'm looking for mass. what now? :wtf:

Strength = mass, especially when you're starting out. If you are getting stronger, then you are getting bigger. SS will be a good program for you. Ask again in a few years and you might get a different answer. :)
