And by the way, i think it is FUCKING BULLSHIT whoever says you cant work certain areas of the chest. Every single pro bodybuilder will tell you otherwise, and i can spot a guy a mile away who doesnt do incline work. Im living proof that a lack of incline will give you bad proportions, and that its there for a reason.
Otis, you can call it bullshit all you want, that doesnt make it untrue. That being said, you can do whatever you want in the gym, no one here will tell you to stop. But if you decided to give untrue advice, then we will definately step in.

You have to understand that the higher the incline goes, the more you incorporate the shoulders, so your not "targeting" the upper chest, your working your delts more and your chest less. Does it effect your development differently then flat bench, of course it does. But does it make your "upper pec" grow more, absolutely not.

And if one more person mentions "the pro's" I'm going to puke. Your not a pro, you dont eat like a pro, you dont use what pro's use, so why the hell would you train like a pro?

Please do some research Otis, this could all be avoided with just a bit of reading.

i got the research hrdgain

the chest is made up of

the pectoralis major
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pectoralis_major_muscle

the pectoralis minor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pectoralis_minor_muscle

and the serratus anterior
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serratus_anterior

all of these muscles get worked when you bench, incline, push ups, etc, if you look at the placement of these muscles there is no way possible you can isolate any of them. and in all actuality when people refer to the look of their chest the are refering to the look of their pectoralis major. the pectorils major is one whole muscle. try to just move the top of your chest. or even the bottom.............................you cant because it is one whole muscle. it is impossible to work a part of a whole muscle. so when you say "you dont give a fuck about what anyone says", you should rethink that. its not about what anyond says, its about what it actually is.

saying you can work different parts of yoru chest is like saying you can beat different parts of your dick

well depending on what area you are sensative in i guess you may be able to do it in parts , but all in all its just 1 shlong

back to the pecs otis. the pec major is one muscle. like i said try to move the top of your pec by itself, the middle, lower, or outer without moving the other.......................you cant. if you try to move one the whole thing will move. the different angles of the benching all work the chest, but they just incorporate other muscles surrounding that area of the pec.

with all this said. you work the pec in general and everything surrounding it to get the look you want. that upper area you are referencing is more like the anterior deltoids and shouler area incorporating on the pec working as a whole

aal in all perks. in your workout include some to majorty of these excersices and you will be cool. bench, incline, dips, flyes, incline flyes, dumbell presses, and incline dumbell presses. get into the habit of including thes exercises hard and heavy into your routine and you will be cool. if you need a workout routine to help you put some stuff together go to the training stickies and find what you need

I think it sucks that you made up your mind at such a young age. But I think it rocks that even though you're so young, you're experienced enough to start working on weak points in your physique. So congrats on that.

In regards to all the pro's doing it. There's a few misconceptions I must convey to you..

1) The pro's don't construct their training programs. Their trainers do. So when you see guys like Ronnie Coleman saying to do his "Ultimate Back Routine", and you see twenty different angles of exercises in there, that doesn't mean each one targets a couple of fibers in each "piece" of his back lol. It means that he does an unGodly amount of chemicals that'll enable him to absolutely torch his entire back without overtraining. That's all that means.

2) Just because they are massive and pro's doesn't mean they know dick quite frankly. They have personal trainers, doctors, nutritionists, ect (ie. an entire team) that'll get the absolute MOST out of their GENETICS. So when they have a "one on one" in the latest Flex issue, and the 180 lb writer asks them what brings out the "upper chest", of course they're going to say, "Um, inclined anything". Or if they want to make a name for themselves, they could say something completely stupid like, "My 'secret' is to do 4 sets of incline DB presses on every click up of the incline bench until I'm almost 90 degrees in order to get that very tiny hard to reach top strand sitting just under the clavicle." Sound stupid, right? Tell that to all the other 15 year olds that read that shit like it's gospel... Ahem.

Here's an analogy for everyone. If you can draw a line in magic marker seperating your upper, middle, and lower pecs and work each piece... Then the same can be said to your quadriceps (quad = four). So go ahead and find me different exercises for each piece of your quad. Now, I don't know about ya'll seeing as I've been away for quite some time, but I'd still be willing to bet that most of you would probably settle for a couple of heavy ass sets of squats and hit them all with fury!

This is living proof that doing a bunch of Incline work does nothing... it's all genetics.
I even said this in my first post.. Most of the "PRO bodybuilders" in Flex and Muscle and Fiction... oh i mean Fitness... are juicing.. So start reading the science and put down the fiction.
