How long should a person let his muscles rest before working them out again?

Depends on how much work you did. A minimum of 48 hours is typically a good idea, but it's all relative.

i forgot to add that the way i work out its about 2 days before i get back to working out a bodypart again anyway. but i kinda of figured 2 days if your training is f moderate intensity and high intensity would be 3..?
i need to step up the intisity again though. i feel better after high intensity workouts. feel like ive acomplished something.
speaking of acomplisments. 2 months ago i could only do 15pds for tricep extensons aka skullcrushers. im up to 35pds now. feel like im getting somewhere.
Anyways have a good xmas everyone.
