Both types of tests are accurate, but if you do decide to use BIA make sure you follow the manufacturers instructions to avoid error. Also makes sure you use the same BIA over time because each measurement varies. I prefer the calipers and measuring tape IMO

The lower % is more accurate. jk

The caliper should be more accurate if you know what you're doing. It will also depend on how many areas you measure. Don't exercise right before...etc, etc.

If the BIA machine thing is a crappy one, then you might get weird numbers. Also, body fluid levels can significantly influence your results. I had a home scale with the BIA function & it sucked.

I don't know why I end up double posting late at night...technology sucks except for when it's busy not sucking.

Ya I had one of those bioelectrical... its just an ohmeter basically... anyways... it sucks. It always reads way high. It said I was like 16-17 percent when I was actually down around 10% by caliper method. I had like a 12 point caliper test done.

I had gotten one of the hand-grip electrode tests at Gold's, and it said I had 24% BF, even though I had started with like 25%, and when I started, I was fatter!
