Working on an empty stomach is cool if you want to lose weight (although it is NOT advisable).

Just because it works for you doesn't really mean anything. That's referred to as "bro-logic".

Do not lift during a fasting period. Eat a meal, then a preworkout shake and post workout shake. I lift in the a.m. due to working 2nd shift, but I understand it's better because the muscles are rested and had time to heal from the day before.
