I like going heavy too, but I always thought that fly's helped. So what does your chest workout routine look like if you don't mind me asking.

Before I found out flyes weren't shit:
Barbell bench press-4 sets
Incline Dumbbell Press-4 sets
Incline Dumbbell Flyes-2 sets
superset:flat flyes with weighted dips

After the groundbreaking discovery:
barbell bench-3 of my heaviest sets
incline bench-2 heaciest sets
incline dumbbell-2 heaviest
weighted dips-3 sets heaviest

I say heaviest because before I used to pyramid up in weight and pace myself for all the rest of that workout. Now I concentrate alot better and heavier using alot less sets than previous. I'm twice the size I used to be without the flyes so go figure...Check out my log for specifics :)

Your second routine looks like mine, except for the incline dumbells, that is where I throw in the flys. I am looking to get rid of all isolation exercises anyway and do a routine of compounds.

You won't regret it!

Cool. I posted a thread about getting a list of all the compound exercises to rego my routine. Taurus put in a lot already. Here is the link if you want to add to it. http://www.bodybuilding.net/showthread.php?t=404

Thnx

May be for gaining mass its worthless, but it helps u get more blood in to ur chest if u do it towards the end of ur chest routine.

True to a point. Getting a "pump" from a workout isn't necessarily an indicator that a.) you worked your muscles hard; or b.) it'll make your muscles bigger. I used to do flyes in the past, and since I've cut them out, I've gotten bigger. If a pump is your thing, just add a few sets of 8-10 reps using compound movements. At least that way you get more of a benefit.

Everything has its benefits. I dont give a damn about getting a pump, if that was the case I would be spending a lot of money on NO2 supplements thinking they will make me grow :D

Yeah, join the crowd with all the others. If I had a dime for every tiny 18 year old over in BulkNutrition that posts what's the best kind for mass I'd be rich! :D

Me too, I only need a penny per post. :p
