Default wrist straps

hey guys, i have encountered a problem which i'm not exactly sure i should have encountered. about two weeks ago i bought a pair of altus leather lifting straps, they were only like $5.99 but i figured wtf, their pieces of leather, they cant really be of bad quality right? well i was aparently wrong! during a set of RDLs one strap just ripped in half. after this i realized i could rather easily tear it with my own hands...is this a common problem among lifting straps? Is leather not the way to go?

It's somewhat common with the cheaper straps.

My advice, spend a little extra money for something that'll last.

Canvas or leather...I've seen canvas ones break too. But then again, that was with +800 lbs Good quality leather ones will work just as well. Get some of ATP's straps...they're the shit.

Canvas would be much more resistant to tearing I would say. I think the leather would be plenty strong until it got nicked or frayed then it would just continue to rip very easily.

I dont' have straps though so thats just my 2 cents.

Harbinger makes a good strap. They should last a couple of years if you purchase quality straps.
