Question what am I doing wrong?

Hey guys,

I would appreciate any input or answers you can dish out. So here's my problem. Im 5'6" @ 160lbs. I was at 172 just under 2months ago. I know, ive lost weight and now Im on a very strict diet, I do cardio first thing in the morning, before I eat anything. I also incorporate working out 3-4 times a week and that includes 5hrs of very intense cardio.

I think I've hit a plateau! My scale still reads 160lbs but Im getting bigger and more ripped, why is my scale still reading 160lbs? Its been almost 2 weeks and my read out is still the same.

Can anyone help me on why my weight isn't dropping? I can also note that my pants are a lot more baggier and my shirts are aren't nearly as tight as they use to be.

Fasted cardio is stupid. Don't do it.

Your glycogen retention is higher from exercising. There are lots of factors that come into play. If you're losing fat while maintaining the same weight, then what are you worried about?

Fasted cardio is not "stupid"--it depends on your goals, body type, etc.

Hitz, it does sound like you have added muscle mass and dropped body fat. Not sure what you are worried about, unless you are trying to drop weight for a specific sport.

Fasted cardio is stupid unless your goal is to lose muscle mass unnecessarily.

well thanks for your input! The reason why Im worried is that perhaps Im a lil paranoid about my weight. I know im getting lean because 1) my clothes fit better, 2)it shows on my face,...

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know that cardio first thing in the morning was bad for me!?

Im taking in the proper amount of protein, so I don't think its really a bad thing! But i'll take that into consideration. Thanks again guys, you've helped a lot.

Don't get too caught up in the fasted cardio. We're talking about 0.154 lbs of muscle mass here in a 40 minute walk lol. I'm 256 now and only need a tsp of BCAA's done deal. However, in the context presented of "intense cardio", it's definately IS a "stupid idea" lol.

The question starts with how "strict" is your diet? You could be super strict, never cheat, whatever. But if you're way off in what/when you're eating, then it doesn't matter IME.

Keep in mind that weight loss is not always linear. Sometimes you'll go a couple of weeks with little weight loss--seems to be a function of water retention.
