Default Milk? bulking on milk a good idea?

I seen a video on youtube of this guy saying stay away from milk even 2%... this doesn't make sense to me especially when mark ripptoes workout says to drink a gallon of 2% milk a day! Thoughts?

I thought about doing this since I can drink milk free at work..

You are lucky. Milk is expensive! Drink away. Who was the guy on youtube?

Ok, first of all this guy is on the right track, but he is overlooking a few things.

First, Milk isnt the best thing for pwo shakes. All you should have in your post workout shake is whey and high gi sugars like dextrose/maltodextrin/wms. Milk has a lot of other shit in it, including fat and lactose that will have adverse effects if taken post workout. Its odd to me he would condem milk, then put ice cream in his shake, its the same shit, wtf is he thinking?

Second, I dont see a problem with drinking milk other times of the day, just not around pre or post workout shakes. Its packed with all kinds of good things, just remember it has a lot of sugar, and lactose has some kind of effect on insulin, so it could facilitate fat storage, but I have no specific evidence of that.

Thrid, I didnt know the 80's were making a comback ... oh, wait, they arent.

I hope you streched that out over a long peroid dude, In college we did the "30 min milk challenge" ... I killed a gallon in 20 minutes. I dont mind puking, but good god was that rough. I'm lactose intolerant so I was hurting for a few days
