Default Cressey's Maximum Strength

I got my copy of his book a couple days ago and I've read it twice already .

Before reading it I was familiar with some of his training principles ie. Maximal Work, but I still learned quite a bit. I still would've bought the book even if it didnt have his program in it. IMO the soft tissue work, mobility work and even the nutrition section is worth it's weight in gold. Hell I even went out and bought a very nice foam roller just to do his soft tissue exercises.

Great book IMO, definitely worth the measly 20 bucks!

i want to continue this thread so that when people DO start the program, they know what to expect.

let me begin..

i suffer from shoulder injuries and when i did the rotation exercises (cable external rotations, dumbbell external rotations and prone trap raises), my shoulders became very unstable. my military press numbers dropped massively.

however, upon stopping these exercises and switching to other exercises like:
face pulls
overhead shrugs
dip shrugs
push up pluses
my strength came back. what to take home from this:

If you have SHOULDER PROBLEMS be cautious of the EXTERNAL ROTATION exercises.

--x---

when i have more to contribute, ill be back

Great info. You just saved me a ton of trouble when/if I do his program.
