creatine?

i wrestle and am looking to get stronger in the off-season. i was thinking about taking creatine but have heard its just water weight so as soon as i stop taking it i will shrink back down. is this true?

Creatine monohydrate is very well researched so I'd highly recommend it. Yes, some of the initial weight changes seem to be caused by fluid getting in the muscles. But creatine does lots of things, like helping recovery, etc. You won't lose any muscle once you go off.

BTW--stick with creatine mono, not any of the "buffered" crap.

don't waste your money on creatine, it only works for about 30% of the people who use it because most people don't have the right precursers in their body to make it fully useful I think it was
N-acetyle cystine. and if your young it's even more of a waste.
I prefer nos or other arginine product and glutimine. you need nutriend delivery and waste expulsion for the muscles. work smarter, work harder and eat more....

I disagree. Creatine (mono) has a very postive effect on gaining strength (about 10%) on almost everyone.

I also highly recommend you to buy & use Creatine. It is extremely powerful in energy reserve for muscle cells. Creatine is a must have for anyone looking to increase Muscular Size & Strength.

I wrestled quite a lot in my day, so to speak. I fully recommend using creatine Monohydrate. Not keen on the new types of creatine as Monohydrate works to perfection.

I have tried creatine a few times, currently taking GNC's amplified creatine 189. It's creatine hydrochloride instead of monohydrate, only been a few weeks so I'm not really sure if it works at all yet. I was taking their Amplified Creatine XXX which is a monohydrate and quickly saw noticeable increase in size, quite a bit actually, but seemed to lose some definition and only moderate increases in strength. But as soon as I stopped taking it I did lose all the size and strength, except for what I had actually gained thru weight training. It was very discouraging.

get on it bud! One of the best staples you can have in your supplement stack. Stick with basic mono, there's a lot of research and evidence to back its benefits, many which ppl have already mentioned above.
Try not to get wrapped up in newer types, stick to the basics. it's an effective way to boost strength, increase recovery, and help support growth in lean mass! Also should help with your endurance for training!
