I use to use straps all the time and it made my forearms weak as hell and it made me look disproportioned :( I know of another site but I'm having trouble finding it. if you try googling powerlifting and wrist wraps you can find a lot of good wraps. |

-hanging leg raises, also if you do a chinup and hold that position and do leg raises you work arms as well as abs. -behind the back barbell wrist curls -and try just holding heavy weight for 30sec., grab a 100lbs+ db and just hold it until you feel your grip going. do this in a kneeling position so if you have to drop the weight it has less distance to travel. also using a barbell will give you the ability to put on a lot of weight for gripping. | |

| Moderator Rank: Light Heavyweight Experience: 7-10 Years | Don't worry about your grip too much. That will come in time. I have wrist wraps that have a nice cusion for your wrists. I forgot the brand, but they are out there. I still get black and blue sometimes on back day. You just need to suck it up. I didn't get black and blue until I started lifting the stack on everything, so I'm naturally curious as to what you lift? Wrist wraps are the most important piece of gear I have. It will allow you to focus more on the quality of the lift instead of hanging on to the weight. Don't lift back without them because your back will suffer. |

| why let your grip hold you back on heavy back movements? i've got the black padded straps as well... i think i got them at academy. i dont' get bruises from them, but i do get burns that last a day or so after i have a back workout |
