I like the idea of substituting bands here and there for anything. And if you don't have anything to do regular face-pulls on then for sure use a mini band to start. But I notice a lot of people seem to be using almost exclusively bands for face-pulls and here is my one problem with that:

One of the most, if not the most, important part of face-pulls is the end and getting that real good scap retraction with a good hold. And that is the toughest/weakest part of the rep. Which is where it's heaviest with bands. I'll betcha a lot of people are going to end up not finishing there reps..so be aware of that.

If you got into a habit of too much band on that you wouldn't be getting all the benifits of the movement.

Of course it's a great idea...just a heads-up.
