You need a calorie deficit.

I am reading that actually taking in more calories in combination with burning even more calories is very good at resulting in fat loss. Burning more calories makes sense but why would you want to add any more calories? The thinking is that your body's metabolism is higher after eating and you don't want to overdo the exercising and start losing muscle.
