fasted am cardio is probrably the best thing you can do, especially if its Hiit. But its not like having something in your stomach is going to magically keep you from burning fat. Regardless of what is in your gut (within reason of course) your still doing cardio, your still getting your heart rate up, and your still increasing the rate at which your body needs to use calories.
While there are a lot of factors to fat loss, i wouldnt get hung up on all the small stuff. Keep it simple, if you can go for fasted cardio, if not dont worry about it. IMO
I don't do this for my family, my friends, women, accolades, pride, or ego. I do it for me and no one else, its just part of who I am.
