Default Muscle vs. Fat Loss

how do you lose fat and not muscle. does restricting calories destroy your muscle mass?

Decrease calories while adding more protein. You will still lose muscle but you can preserve more if you have a higher than normal protein intake during your weight loss program.

What FF said. Best thing to do I have found is 1-1.25 grams of protein per lb of body weight.

So for this purpose do cardio exercises and join any gym your extra weight will be convert into muscles and tight

Cardio, moderate weight training, a decrease in fat intake and an increase in protien consumption.

In addition to the info supplied above, try not to lose weight to fast. The faster you are losing weight the greater the chance of it being muscle. Don't quote me on this but, I believe that approx. 3lbs. per week is the magic number to maintain as much muscle as possible.

I've heard 1lb. per week. Either way, the point is it's not easy. If it was, everyone would have an 8 pack. Slow and steady wins this race.

You will not lose muscle mass if you are lifting weights and doing a reasonable calorie restriction. The fear of losing muscle mass is over-hyped--it isn't nearly as likely as some would have you believe.
