Default Yo

Well I am an enormous 130lbs right now and am 5'10 (22 yrs old). I am basically beginning to eat tons more food than I typically do. I have read a lot about working out and the diet involded previously but have never just put the time and effort into it. However, it is something I would really like to pursue through the end of this semester and as long as I enjoy it.

Goals: Really to gain about 15-20 lbs of weight (hopefully muscle) without really going to the gym that much if any. I would like to do it by using dumbells and pushups. Some of you may be laughing at me hysterically right now for saying that, but I would love to hear your ideas/comments.

I have been sticking to a high protein diet the past 2 weeks now. Lots of milk, chicken, other meats, as well as protein shakes every day or 2. I believe I have gained about 3 lbs already.

Previously I never really ate that much. I never was hungry, I was always busy. Just never got around to eating I guess. I lost about 15lbs over the past year or 2.

If any of you would like to personally try and help me out here with tips and possible exercises that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome aboard! I really suggest you start to hit the gym,and dont see why you would want to miss out on getting in great workouts to speed up your improvements...At 5'10 130lbs you must ve really skinny so I suggest you go on a "see food" diet for awhile meaning you see food and eat it!...Well anyway ask questions there are plenty on here who will help out.

Welcome aboard Mojo.

I second Dave's advice with the gym and food, so start tossing that iron around and getting in more meals and you should notice some improvements fast.

Welcome to the forum!

"Goals: Really to gain about 15-20 lbs of weight (hopefully muscle) without really going to the gym that much if any. I would like to do it by using dumbells and pushups. Some of you may be laughing at me hysterically right now for saying that, but I would love to hear your ideas/comments."

The best way to gain that kind of muscle is to work out in the gym on a regular basis.

I'm not being sarcastic, but everybody started somewhere. So, I ain't going to laugh at you. The first thing ya got to do is get it your head, and your heart what you want. Don't worry about how little weight you can do, or what anybody thinks about you. I say F*** them. I started out lifting weights at 23, and could barely bench 95 lbs with proper form. But, I had it in my head, and heart what I wanted to look like. I'm sure some of the experienced lifters were laughing at me. But, I tuned everybody out, and focused on lifting. I've put on over 100 lbs since then.

The bottom line is make up your mind what you want to do. Then train smart, and eat right. You WILL achieve your goal by doing this.

Good luck! Don't hesitate to ask any questions either. A dumb question, is one that's not asked. There is a lot of experience here!

I hate that see food diet. I gain too much fat when doing that diet. I will stick with my low fat high protein diet
