Deli meats-Are they still bad this way?
I used to eat deli meats/ham. Then, I read in the 'What a bodybuilder eats" sticky, that BBers should not eat them. I looked at the Nut. label, on some ham, and found that the only culprit I could find was that it is high in sodium, no fillers, and no significant sat. fat, so no fat used to take up space, like in sausage/hot dogs. But then, I thought, what if I boil ham? I tried it, and I can't taste any salt, I'm eating some as I type (I like multitasking). The stuff's not too expensive, is precooked, and lasts a good while in the fridge. I throw it in a pot after I boil eggs, so no additional setup/cooking time is used. Does it still seem bad?

Doesnt seem bad to me, not completely sure though. I personally like boars head meats and cheeses, they make low sodium versions that taste good, although its pretty expensive compared to other protien sources.

I buy the stuff that's on sale, or is already low-priced. In terms of cheeses, I prefer to eat the white varieties (mozzarella, etc.), they have almost 1/2 less fat than many of the yellow cheeses. But, the yellows are still good. I don't judge based on color

Agreed. I also like Boars Head but it can get expensive quick if you are not careful.

It is very good. That's the problem, you get addicted to it and next thing you know your wallet is screaming in pain.
