Default I don't understand!

First let me say I am sorry for asking a question that has already been adressed. Now for my question. Can some one spell it out for me in a simple as possible answer, what do I need to buy to help reach my goals? Here are my goals:
1-To loose some weight. I weigh 190lbs and am 6'0 tall and 33 years old. I have the famous "LOVE HANDLES" and some what of a gut.

2-To gain musle mass and strength.
I work out at least 3-4 days a week on chest and arms with some delts being thrown in. Also some obliques to help rid the handles.

I have read a lot on here about eating this and that, drinking this and that. When do I need to eat what type of food and drink what type of shake and what kind do I buy?

Thank you for any info. This is a great site and yo guys seem to be knowledgeable. Again I am new to the system.
