Default Need a little help

I have just started going to the gym and been at it for about 3 weeks now.

What I am looking for is some helpful ways that I can achieve my goals. I know that nutrition and diet is a big part of building lean muscle mass.

Little about where I am now and where I want to be by this time next year.

I am 24yrs old, 6'0 tall, 159lbs.

I am about to head to Iraq here in a month or so and plan to keep the current routine that I have in the gym up while over there.

This time next year I want to

You'll get newbie gains, around 10-15lb depending on the person. I gained about 12 my first month in a half. So far I've gained about 40lb of weight since I started about a year ago on and off, but have gotten way stronger. Wish I had newbie gains again.

Jbender, an often-overlooked mass-builder, is recovery. A LOT of that takes place while you sleep. What I'm trying to get at, is a whole lot of lifters don't get the amount of sleep that they should, and don't see the results that they should.

12 lbs in your first month and a 1/2?!?! What gives!?
