I cook mine with milk. That improves the taste a lot. Oats cooked in water are terrible for sure.

And I don't sweat a bit of sugar and butter either, lol.

But you can put it in a shake like Pity said. Instant oats will be your best bet for that. You can also get oat flour and use that for shakes.

You can also use oat flour to make other things like pancakes, etc...but you will need something with that which has gluten or they will not hold up. You can do half and half with wheat flour.

Also, if you want to use other grains for baking like this but they don't make a good product because of their gluten content you can get gluten powder all by itself to add in.

Obviously this is a assuming you OK with gluten.

Oatmeal is good for you. It is not "pure" fiber.

Everything in moderation though. You can have too much grain like anything else and it can cause some acid problems.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Just buy old fashioned oats. I believe you will find that much cheaper than buying oat flour. If you want an oat flour consistency, then you can use a food processor which effectively increases the glycemic index making it good for post-workout shake. I usually take half the can of oats and put it in a food processor and then store that in tupperware.

BTW, I cannot stand cooked oats. I add them to milk and sometimes also add dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, raisins) and walnuts.
