Simply put yes. I believe lyle M. suggests 15g of protien and roughly 30g of high gi carbs about 15-20min before your workout. It will also do you good to sip on a High gi carb drink while working out (like gatorade, virtago ect).
I don't do this for my family, my friends, women, accolades, pride, or ego. I do it for me and no one else, its just part of who I am.
