Confidence is a HUGE thing. And letting them know that you appreciate the muscle and the work they've done is good too ;) Just don't sound like a schmoe.

my deadlift is horrible, mainly due to when I broke my hand a year ago. I have a hard time gripping the bar, should get some straps

i feel your pain. the bad thing for me is that. i want to get into those olympic lifts. my squating isnt to bad. i can olympic squat i can not stay off my toes at all. not matter how much weight i drop. maybe i have to just start off with virtually the bar and work on it. but if i open my stance some i can stay on my heels no problem.
second i fell like i could military press around 285 to 315. i did 285 before but i know i could have went up more, but i can barlley deadlift that and if i can deadlift it i cant clean it. its a struggle getting the bar up and cleaned but once i press it it doesnt feel like a problem at all.
and i might be able to get up more with the military press but i have to build up the confidence to jerk it (no homo). i was doing some jerks a few months ago when i was trying to see where my knee was at and i messed it up for about a month. i feel like my knees have gotten stronger since then with me being able to do squats but i dont want to jerk 315 and wind up hurting my knee again.
this is bullshit. im getting mad thinking about it

I have, but I thought it was Invisible Lat Syndrome. I suppose it's just an alternate name for the same serious illness.

ILS is no laughing matter, it is a gateway illness and can lead to much more serious disorders like
Tommy Tough Guyism (believing ones self to be much tougher then he actually is)
Mass Delusional Psychosis (Losing the grasp on reality in such a way that you think you are much more massive then you actually are)
Hypertrophy schizophrenia (the belief that your muscles are actually talking to you, and telling you that they are growing)
But as Freud an Bleuler would have no doubt concluded, all these illnesses stem from one simple disorder ... Penis envy
