It really pisses me off that the author purposefully didn't explain the reasoning for any of the plan (other than his idle, close minded speculation). I think people should know none of the truth rather than half of the truth if those are the only choices. Take this article with a grain of salt... No offense Matt.

This article:
No offense taken sir, I agree its a very biased article, but it brought his plan into a new light for me. I just think that if you want to fund social programs, and you believe in them, there is no need to hide them behind a false veil of tax cuts.

I find it hard to find unbiased media coverage of any of this, but if you take a little from each source, you can come to an equilibium at some point.

I agree with you here. There isn't much unbiased coverage out there.

Not all of his "tax cuts" are for social programs though. While he is "raising taxes", the majority of taxpayers will end up paying less because of the tax credits. Because of how ignorant and uninformed the general public is, I would call it "tax cuts" also if it was my campaign. In the end, that's essentially what it is. That's half of the issue anyway. You're right, part of it is being used for social programs.

Obama is catching a lot of crap over his tax plan from McCain for the very reason that you mentioned. McCain is doing the very same thing to fund his health care program, but he's not being attacked as much about it. Shows you how important semantics are.

That's my take on things at this point anyway. I think this is unarguably the most interesting election in the past twenty years. I think everyone has an idea of what's probably going to happen, but it's still unprecedented. Then again, the world has been going nuts this year, so who knows? It will make the next election pretty interesting also.
