Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, which has two sequels called The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
The Stranger by Albert Camus

Just a few things off the top of my head.

Funny, but I've read all those except the first one.

Well, I've read all the Crichton, Ayn Rand, Hemingway, Tolkien and Tom Robbins.

I was thinking of delving into Ulysses, but I think it may be too involved. I thought, too, in maybe re-reading the Shanara series by Terry Brooks. Or maybe finishing Vidal's historical series (I think I'm up to Empire or Hollywood).

I still have Shelby Foot's Civil War on my shelf, but like I said, I want to read some fiction.
