This is another thing that I think is a personal choise . The two guys I train with both lift in the mid 400's ( closer to 500 ) . One is back and almost up on his toe's with a great arch. The other guy has his legs way out in front and can get some great drive , but smaller arch.

I hear what your saying , Pity. But I've still seen guys lift almost 600lbs and lifting there head like that. So I think you should be able to still stay tight . Not saying it's right , but ...

One thing I try to do is visulize ripping the bar apart with my hands ( pulling them apart ) I find that and staying up on my traps helps.

An issue I have is using the legs to my advantage and getting a good arch.

Man , so much little things to do - that all add up to one great lift !

Still an amazing PR ,Hops.

Thanks guys!

My low back hates a big arch nowdays, just cant do it.I used to tuck my feet but not now.

Louie says in his book of methods that the head should rise and eyes follow the bar.Arch aint important.Meh dunno just know it was good to fuck that 105 bitch!!

I hear you with the lower back .... Massage it out !

With the arch , it may not be important for a lift , but it does cut down on the distance needed by a good 5".
