It's crazy how your rest time between just a set or two can screw up your workout. It's something that I always pay attention to...but I haven't ever looked at the clock before.

I think I'll try that pullup grip also. I need to do something. It sounds like it's working well for you.

I got a dairy digestant at GNC...for a nickel. It was on sale. But that is something you might consider. It has helped me, I think. Just a pill a day. My cousin is lactose intolerant, but if she takes it before eating dairy, she's fine.

Hope the head/ear thing gets better. That is always a drain.

deads. neat. did a lot of lifting at work today...i will be sore tomorrow. i'm getting sick of military press....any recommendations for a good "replacement"???

obliques still hurt from monday's side bends...so i stuck with one set.

Ross86 02-06-2008 06:30 PM

I did Arnolds today for my shoulders...I like them. Standing shoulder press is a good option also. Pretty much the same movement though.

Haha, when my obliques get sore, they stay sore. Congrats on the PR

I dont' think there is much of a replacement for shoulder press. Its pretty damn important.

I'd have to agree, nothing feels as natural as the press.Im sure you could replace it if need be, but what about just switching rep ranges??

Also congrats on the PR too :)

Pitysister 02-07-2008 03:53 AM

thanks fellas... i could do arnolds...but i'm pretty sure i'll run out of weight at home. :) only got zee fifty pound dumbbells...

any recommendations on reps/sets to switch to?

hrdgain81 02-07-2008 06:48 AM

arnolds are much harder then standard db shoulder presses if you do them right. Depending on your strength level 50lbs may be enough. The same goes for standing BB presses, I find them to be much more difficult then seated, and much more effective at building strength/mass overall. Play with them to see which one is more to your liking.
