The most common argument against creatine supplementation is that it has a low bioavailability. First, it is argued that creatine is unstable in solution, and particularly in acid, so only a small amount survives the gastrointestinal tract. This isn't true - "unstable" is a relative term, and the degradation half-life (the time it takes for 50% of the creatine to degrade) in the GI tract can still be expected to be in the range of a week to a few months.
