I don't want to give you advice that isn't good for your health condition, you should heed your Dr.'s advice, or better yet, see a specialist. Maybe he thinks you mean steroids when you said But a scoop of protein before workouts is good, it's fuel for the muscles while they workout. But, a person really NEEDS to take a scoop of protein immediately after workouts. This is one of the times when the body most needs protein. Also, it's a really good idea to take about 30 grams of dextrose or maltodextrin with the protein. They are found in several foods, such as antacid tablets, (just make sure it is the #1 or #2 ingredient on the ingredient list) and by themselves, in powder form. One in the morning is good, also. and, you can finish off the day with one scoop with some cottage cheese, which helps stave off muscle loss at night.
