Supplements Blood Pressure issues
Years ago I took all kinds of supplements: 1-AD, Creatine, Glutamine, Amino stacks, Hydroxycut (ephedra), Protein in all shapes and sizes. I recently went to the doc and was told I have high blood pressure. Most of the supplements that I read about now as being the next big thing all have warnings for people with hypertension (high blood pressure). I still consume as much protein as possible, take multi vitamins, and am considering starting with Creatine again. My question is, is there anything new out there that I should consider that is not going to be harmful considering my blood pressure issues.

The basics (aka the important stuff) is still the same. I can't think of much that's worth mentioning.

Are you on meds for high blood pressure?
If not look into hawthorne berry extract, fish oil, and Coenzyme Q10.
They should all help with that issue.

Skott,
Having had high blood pressure myself for many many years I feel your pain. My use of both supps and anabolics ran much deeper than yours though. I would first try the supps hrdgain81 has suggested. With high blood pressure, like it or not, things do change a bit. Try and get your BP within managable levels by both natural means which should always include a good cardio program.
Pay particular attention to your diet. If you're looking for something that is going to produce the same results as those prohormones (the ones that actually did work) that were around 4-5 years ago, I wouldn't even look. There just isn't anything made (legally) anymore that is going to do that. If you're looking for something a little stronger, there's a forum for that here but I would use a LOT of caution in going there when you factor in the High BP. If you're talking about cutting drugs, legal or otherwise, forget them. You can do great things on diet alone.
As for consulting a doctor. Find a good doctor that is well versed in both sports medicine and supplimentation. God knows there are many out there that are giving advice who have as much knowledge on the subject as I would have on open heart surgery.
However, if you ever want a good laugh try having a detailed conversation with (your 58 yo) primary care physician on your last cycle and the benifits of different types of post cycle therapy. TALK ABOUT THE DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS LOOK.. Some doctors just don't have any business giving advice on this subject, and some do. Find one that does.
And finally, there's about 6-7 guys on this site that are light years ahead of everyone else when it comes to supplimention and bodybuilding in general. Without leaving anyone out, you'll figure out who they are pretty fast.
Take care of that heart. There "may" be more available, but like most things in life, nothings as good as the original.

Good post Iced.
Skott, if you do have any questions about a particular supplement, just post it up on the forum and you should get some accurate feedback.
Dave, use periods & commas. I'm not sure what you said, but I think you said that it's okay to take supplements that will raise your blood pressure even if you have high blood pressure. That doesn't make sense that your blood pressure dropped if you were taking something that raises blood pressure (all other variables being held constant, of course). And if a miracle did happen, it's probably not a good idea for other people to try the same thing.
