Default is there a limit on how many grams of creatine

is there a limit on how many grams of creatine your body can take in during a one hour period. i was interested since im going to get back into taking it again and i plan on loading but since you have to take so much a day i was wondering if i could take a double dose

Hey Verb.,

The short answer would be, you can take a double dose, but the more important question is, can your body assimulate that much for your benefit, or are you just crapping it out. Every one is different, I know guys that only require a couple of grams of creatine, and anything more is wasted. I on the other hand can take as much as 8 or 9 grams a serving and get better results with each gram I add (anything over 8 or 9 however, seems to be wasted). But that doesn't mean I double dose it and only load 2 or 3 times a day. I still take it 5 to 6 times a day, and usually ingest about 6 or 7 grams of it.

So you can take 10 grams of it, but I believe the general idea behind creatine is that spreading it out is more effective, (just like your protein, you could eat 200 grams of protein first thing in the morning, but that wouldn't mean your body would still be using it properly by 6pm. It's just smarter to spread it out)

I agree with Boxing Raven.. you could but are you just pissing it and your money away.. if you really want to, make a log of how much you take in a month and see what happens when you up it.. if you make more gains.. well then there's your answer.. but if not.. refer to previous statement.. just make sure your diet is the same as when you first try the experiment.. member lifting is also about finding your body's limit.. and whether or not you can go over that limit

i know this might be a stupid questiong becuase i feel its repeditive but im 200lbs how much do u think and average person my size could take and i guess i play around with that number

Around 200 I'd say just 10. I take 15 but weigh alot more. I also wouldn't double the dosage during loading because your body can only assimilate so much at a time. Real expensive piss.
