The short answer would be, you can take a double dose, but the more important question is, can your body assimulate that much for your benefit, or are you just crapping it out. Every one is different, I know guys that only require a couple of grams of creatine, and anything more is wasted. I on the other hand can take as much as 8 or 9 grams a serving and get better results with each gram I add (anything over 8 or 9 however, seems to be wasted). But that doesn't mean I double dose it and only load 2 or 3 times a day. I still take it 5 to 6 times a day, and usually ingest about 6 or 7 grams of it.
So you can take 10 grams of it, but I believe the general idea behind creatine is that spreading it out is more effective, (just like your protein, you could eat 200 grams of protein first thing in the morning, but that wouldn't mean your body would still be using it properly by 6pm. It's just smarter to spread it out)
