Default 5x5 advice

Hi,

Been doing a fair bit of reading and it seems to me that 5x5 is one of the best programs for gaining weight and strength, so I'm going to start on it. My problem is that, for the time being I'm not able to do squats or deadlifts because of a knee injury, maybe for another few months. (I was also thinking of rippetoe's, but since I'm not doing legs I might as well do a couple more sets ?). Anyway I'm going to stick to the rest of the program doing Bench, Military Press and Pendlay rows for 5x5 at the same weight and add weight when I get all reps. I'll probably do ab work each workout as well. My question is; should I do this workout (ie. all 3 exercises) each workout and 3 times a week. Or should I just do it 2 times a week. What do you think ? I'm not 100% sure on this.

Thanks in advance for your help

Peter
