Dumbbells are great for starting. Look up on the internet exercises for any body part and you will find some good info for starting out. The only part that would be hindered may be back because lat pulldowns and cable rows are important, but if you have an area where you can do chins and pull ups you will be fine.
Also post what weight are your dbells because you might need a certain range for different exercises, simply because some exercises can go heavier than others.
