I'd also advise to go see a doctor or physiotherapist. When I've torn my RC playing baseball 3years ago, the pain went from my shoulder all along my collarbone. I also think the pain changes all depending on where(refering to the RC) it happened.

Hope you didn't workout too much in the 6month period.
